How it plays
Forgiving where it counts, with a little more pop.
The same round head and soft core as Euro Summer, so the shots you mistime still land. It’s tuned for a touch more power, and rewards a fuller swing once your timing starts to come together.
- Sweet spotWideOff-centre hits still go where you meant.
- FeelSoftTakes the sting out and helps the ball off the face.
- HandlingQuickEasy to move at the net and on defence.
Model 74, played straight.
Slate is Model 74 at its cleanest: a pale face crossed by red, blue and orange racing stripes, with the FRLYS wordmark riding through them. Seventies sportswear, no irony required.

Each design uses soft EVA, lightweight fibreglass and a forgiving round head for effortless play. Premium materials, modern colours and a guarantee to make every racket look good, feel right and last.
What does a Playtomic rating mean?
Playtomic is the app many clubs use to book courts and find a game, and it gives every player a level from 0 to 7. Slate is built for players rated 0.5 – 1.85.
Not on Playtomic, or not sure where you sit? Take the quiz and we’ll point you at the right racket.
What do EVA, balance and fibreglass actually mean?
EVA is the foam core inside the face. Soft EVA gives more, so the ball comes off easily and it’s kind on the arm. Hard EVA is firmer and gives back more power when you hit hard.
Balance is where the weight sits, measured in millimetres from the bottom of the handle. Around 255mm is head light and quick in the hand; around 275mm is head heavy, with more power through the swing.
Fibreglass faces flex more, for a softer, more forgiving feel. Carbon faces are stiffer, for more pop and precision.
